Hearthkeeper Privacy Policy
Hearthkeeper (“the app”, also called Emberhome) turns real chores, habits and to-dos into a small village game. It is made by Primedy Applications (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. You can reach us at hearthkeeper.support@primedyhealth.com.
The short version
- The app works without an account. Signing in with Google is optional and only needed for cloud backup and households.
- We do not show ads, we do not sell your information, and we do not use the app to track you across other apps or websites.
- What you type into the app (deeds, notes, progress) stays on your device unless you sign in and turn on cloud sync.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your payment card details.
Information we handle
On your device (always). Your deeds, habits, to-dos, notes, timers, village and game progress, settings, and any items you own are stored in your device’s local storage so the app works offline. This stays on your device unless you sign in and use cloud sync, or you export a backup file yourself.
If you sign in with Google. We receive your Google account’s display name, email address, profile photo and a unique account ID from Google. We use them to identify your account and, in a household, to show your name and photo to the other members.
Cloud backup and sync (only when you sign in). Your full game save — including the deeds, descriptions and notes you wrote — is stored in our cloud database so you can restore it on another device. Only your own signed-in account can read it.
Households (optional). If you create or join a household, the household stores its member list (names, photos, roles), an invite code, shared “Town Deeds” and who they are assigned to, and the household’s shared village progress. Members of a household can see the shared information described here. A household Owner can see deeds assigned to any member.
Purchases. If you buy something in the shop (for example a tip, a theme or a pack), Google Play processes the payment. We use a purchase-management service, RevenueCat, to confirm what you have bought and to restore it on a new device. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID and purchase records from Google Play. We do not receive your card number or billing address.
Reminders. If you enable reminders, they are generated on your device from your own deeds. We do not send marketing notifications.
Technical data. Like any app that uses online services, the services we rely on (below) may process technical information such as your IP address and device or app version in the course of operating and securing their service. We do not run our own analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools in the app.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your village, save your progress, and sync it between your devices.
- To operate households: show members to each other and share deeds.
- To provide purchases: confirm and restore items you bought.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf:
- Google (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) — sign-in, and storage of cloud saves and households.
- Google Play — the app store and payment processing.
- RevenueCat — confirming and restoring purchases.
Other people only see your information if you share it: members of a household you join can see your name, photo and the shared deeds described above. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Local data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Cloud data stays until you ask us to delete it (see below). If you leave a household, your membership is removed from it.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Use the app without signing in; nothing is uploaded.
- Sign out at any time in Settings.
- Export a backup file, or clear the app’s data on your device, at any time.
- Delete your account and cloud data: in the app, go to Settings → Cloud Sync → Delete my account (also available on the web version). It takes effect immediately. Full steps, and what is and isn’t deleted, are on our account deletion page.
- You can also ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct it, using the same email address.
Children
Hearthkeeper is a general household and productivity app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A household Owner is responsible for who they invite to a household. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Cloud data is protected by account sign-in and database access rules so that only you (and, for household data, your household members) can read it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where data is processed
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
